South African Air Force Chief visits Brazil

Over a period between 24 April to 3 May 2005 the Chief of the South African Air Force, Lt Gen Carlo Gagiano, and his delegation payed a high-level goodwill visit to the Chief of the Brazilian Air Force, Lt Brig Luiz Carlos Da Silva Bueno.

During his visit the Chief attended the Latin America Aero and Defence Exhibition and Air Show (LAAD). He also attended conferences on the topics of “How to make armed forces re-equipment programmes compatible” and “Logistics of peacekeeping operations”.

The aim of the visit was to build rapport and foster defence relations between the two Air Forces.

This visit created the opportunity for the two Chiefs to discuss many important issues that affect both the South African Air Force and the Brazilian Air Force.
