AFB Overberg Medal Parade

AFB Overberg hosted a prestigious medal parade on 7 July 2005. The officiating Officer was Brigadier General T. Jacobs, MMM, who is the current Director Logistics of the Air Force.

The medals awarded were General Service Medals, Tshumelo Ikatelaho, Unitas as well as 30, 20 and 10 Year service medals.

Brig Gen Jacobs stated in her speech that the future of the South African Air Force as part of the SANDF is promising and that we are here to guard the skies and serve the people of our country. “There is an increasing demand on South Africa, especially on the Department of Defence, to support in peace keeping operations on the continent”.

Brig Gen Jacobs conveyed her personal and Chief of the Air Force’s congratulations to the recipients of medals. The Western Cape Army Band also added splendour to the occasion.
