SAAF Rugby team vs the Royal Welsh Fusiliers

The Air Force Rugby Team played a rugby match against the The Royal Welsh Fusiliers Rugby Team on Saturday 30 July 2005. It was a sunny day in Cape Town as the game started just after 11:00. Both teams displayed grid and determination as the leader on the scoreboard alternated between the teams. When the final whistle blew the SAAF Rugby Team managed to pull ahead with the winning score of SAAF 24 Royal Welch 17. This is a remarkable feat as it was the 6th rugby match in as many days for most of the SAAF Rugby Team, as the Annual SAAF Rugby Championships finished on the Friday. Both the teams enjoyed a memorable 3rd half, when they had a function at AFB Ysterplaat after the game, and watched the Springboks playing against Australia at Loftus.
