1000 Cheetah Hours Milestone for OC 2 Squadron

26 July 2005 was no ordinary day for Lt Col Don Dormehl, OC 2 Squadron. When typical sortie lengths range from 25 to 35 minutes, achieving 1,000 flying hours on Cheetahs, is a remarkable achievement. Flying Cheetahs at 2 Squadron since 1997, Lt Col Dormehl, call sign EXPERT, has achieved this momentous milestone in accumulating 687 hours on Cheetah C and 313 hours on Cheetah D. Considering that this equates to more than 2,000 sorties, this was a significant day in the life of a fighter pilot. Well done Don!
