Signing of the A 400 M deal

Mr Mosiuoa Lekota, our Minister of Defence, and Mr Erik Buschmann, the Chief Financial Officer Air-Bus Military, holding pictures of the A400M aircraft.The Minister of Defence, Mr Mosiuoa Lekota, signed a deal at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on 28 April 2005 with the European aircraft manufacturer, Air-Bus Military, to purchase eight military transport aircraft.

 A scale model of the A400M aircraft.Mr Lekota said he was very excited that the deal had reached this stage and that it was important for South Africa to make this acquisition. “We are looking forward to a very long and fruitful relationship on this project,” Minister Lekota said.
