 Zimbabwe Airshow Picture Gallery

Over the period 6 – 11 September 2005 the South African Air Force (SAAF) participated in the Zimbabwe Air Force Open Day, which was held at the Charles Prince Aerodrome in Harare.

During this event the SAAF made full use of the opportunity to better the understanding of military and civilian aviation within the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Since many Air Forces of the continent were represented at the airshow, the SAAF’s professional participation, which promoted CAF’s vision of greater cooperation among SADC countries, was to the benefit of both the SAAF and the RSA.

The following SAAF aircraft participated in the Air Show

  • 1 x B707

  • 2 x Cheetah

  • 1 x Rooivalk

  • 1 x C208

  • 5 x PC 7 Astra (Silver Falcons)

  • 1 x C130

  • 1 x Oryx

  • 1 x C212

  • 1 x Citation

Our skydiving team, the Golden Eagles, also participated in the event.

In the spirit of cooperation within the Standing Aviation Committee, the Chief of the Air Force of Zimbabwe invited CAF to attend the open day as part of the Zimbabwean Defence Force Silver Jubilee Celebration.
