On 31 July 2014 students from Thuso Thebe High visited 28 Squadron for an educational tour. They were welcomed by co-pilot Lt Col Carl Moatshe and taught about the role of the C-130BZ in the South African Air Force.

There were 17 students and three teachers from the history department who came to receive exposure regarding the South African National Defense Force. Thuso Thebe High is a secondary school based in Tlakwameng in  the North West. They are located in Vryburg.

After a presentation of the capabilities of 28 Squadron the students had an opportunity to fly in a C-130BZ.  The aircraft flew in the Waterkloof airspace doing several touch and goes to give all the students opportunity to view the cockpit during the flight. The visit was a great success , meeting all the objectives set out by the school and giving lasting memories to the students as for most of them it was their first opportunity fly.
